The Chronicle: Career Network: Becoming a Librarian- Todd Gilman writes about his experience of getting a Ph.D., looking for work, and how "I met with two Harvard librarians, and to my delight, both said instantly that a Ph.D. in English and a master's in library science would make a "powerful combination" of credentials for a future librarian." He then explains how he got hired at Yale as a collection development specialist in their library.
The Chronicle: Career Network: Putting Your Ph.D. to Work in the Library- Todd Gilman writes, "My advice to would-be academic librarians involves four progressive steps.
